About Megan
I absolutely love training, and especially a good challenge! Born and raised in Southern California, I’m a natural beach/ water baby at heart. From an early age I was encouraged to always “do your very best” and that is exactly what I set out to do; driven to excel in everything I do. In my early years, after trying my hand at soccer and gymnastics, I found a true desire for swimming. My high school years were spent dedicated to my studies, Varsity Swim, and Water Polo Teams. I also started surfing, became an ocean lifeguard and quickly developed a strong passion for the ocean. While attending college in San Diego, California, I surfed competitively while earning a 4 year degree in Psychology.
Finding Triathlon
Upon my return from overseas traveling, in June of 2006, I fractured a vertebrae in a surf accident. After stepping out of the pool for several years, I began swimming again for rehabilitation where I rekindled my passion for swimming. Some friends introduced me to the idea of triathlon racing. I purchased my first bike in June, 2007 for my first triathlon to be in September of 2007 and started training blindly. Once crossing the finish line, I instantly became hooked. I quickly fell in love with triathlons and training and haven’t looked back since.
What’s next?
Now, I have my heart set on turning this passion, drive and this natural gift into a career by becoming a pro. I’m a natural competitor and work hard at what I love to do. Eventually, I will chase down the top pros in my sport. I’m also planning on taking the Insanity Workout challenge after I read Brian’s excellent Insanity Workout reviews. I need a supportive staff, that includes family, coaches, fans and sponsors. I also need to train smart, continue to work hard to achieve my goals, and treat my body well. So be sure to follow me while I chase down my dreams in the world of triathlons.
